GDIPlus Patch for Sonic Products

The GDIPlus.DLL file is used by Windows and other applications to manipulate 2D graphics, specifically JPEG images. An exploit was discovered where if a malicious JPEG file was posted on a web site and you viewed that site with Internet Explorer, your system could become infected.

This patch works for the following Sonic products:

  • MyDVD: 5.0, 5.2.x, 5.3, 5.3.1, 6.0, 6.02
  • RecordNow!: 6.5, 6.7, 7.0, 7.1, 7.2x, 7.3
  • CinePlayer: 1.5, 1.51, 1.52, 2.0, 2.0x, 2.1
  • PrimeTime: 1.0, 1.1, 1.2.1, 1.3
  • DVDit: 2.x, 5.0, 5.1

Later revisions of these products already include the new GDIPlus.DLL so no update is necessary.

If you are running earlier versions of the software listed above you can manually replace the GDIPlus file on your system by following the directions in the GDIPlus KnowledgeBase Article.
